The lack of motivation
I started off the week feeling unmotivated and that carried out throughout the week. My weekly workout routine was completely off. I like to move my body in the morning but I didn’t prioritize that last week. The last couple of months that I have been consistently working out have been really good not only for my body but my mental health.

I did a couple of stretches though, so that was something. I really have no excuse. My plan of action is to get back into routine this week. Now that the weather is getting colder and it’s raining consistently – it’s definitely harder to get out of bed earlier. At the end of the week I did give myself a pep talk and started making plans to get myself out of this funk. I will be back next week with an update!
Fall Themed Puzzle

I bought a thousand piece fall puzzle from Winners (my happy place 😀) thinking I would be able to put it together in under 2 hours. Boy, was I wrong. I hadn’t done a puzzle in years but I wasn’t expecting it to be that difficult. I mean, it’s just joining pieces together, right?
The challenging thing with this puzzle is not only are there a thousand pieces but most of them look alike. The picture has several pumpkins, so sometimes it’s hard to tell which piece belongs to which pumpkin lol.
It’s been a good brain exercise though. I lose track of time whenever I am working on it. For example, last Friday I told myself that I would work on it for 30 minutes and lo and behold, 2 hours later I was still working on it. Hopefully, I can complete it this week. I will be dedicating more time to it this week.
Making Friends as an Adult

It’s no lie that as you get older it’s not easy making new friends. On top of that, if you live in a big city it’s even more challenging. I went on a friend date with someone I literally met the previous week. I had so much fun!
We went to an arcade and played a bunch of games. We were roller-skating( I am still learning this by the way), go-karting, singing karaoke, played air hockey and the like. We got drinks afterwards and continued to get to know each other. I was pleasantly surprised by how much we had in common.
It did make me think that maybe I am wrong about how difficult it is to make friends. Perhaps it’s not as hard as I initially thought. It’s always nice when you connect with another person and just enjoy each other’s company.
Another thing I did to meet new people is to join a book club with people I didn’t previously know. The jury is still out on this. Our first meetup is coming up soon. We are reading The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. Not gonna lie – I haven’t read fantasy in years so I am struggling a bit with this book. I have only read one chapter so far. I will read more this week so I might end up enjoying it.
I think that’s all for now for my first weekly snippet. Going into the new week I want to leave you with this quote:
