Building A Workout Routine
Last week I went to the gym two times! Cue the applause. Also shout out to me because I had on long press-on nails and I was able to still workout with none of them breaking off.
I have gone to the gym on and off over the years. This is actually the first time I have been fairly consistent. I am still building a routine but I do enjoy a good morning workout. Now that it’s Fall it’s been a bit harder waking up early in the morning so I need to come up with a plan that works.

Exercising has so many health benefits, it’s not just about looking good (though it is definitely one of my biggest motivations). Right now going to the gym 3 times a week is realistic for me. Then prioritizing stretches and slow movement throughout the week. I am just happy to be back in there tbh lol.
On Long-form Writing
I want to get into long-form blogging. I don’t think I have ever done that before so this would be a good writing challenge for myself. I also miss reading long-form blogs. A lot of the long-form bloggers I used to read in the past have stopped writing these types of blogs. I don’t know but for some reason I miss that type of writing. #BringBackLongFormBlogs.
I remember how I really enjoyed a good long-form blog post. It was like reading a chapter from a good book. Like catching up with an old friend. It was akin to watching your favourite series without bingeing. You had to wait for the next episode. The writing wasn’t too long and not too short. It was just the right amount.

I also think it will be a good exercise for me to practice my writing and figure out my writing style. To find my voice – whatever that means. And to express my creativity. I can add cute pictures, aesthetic or non-aesthetic images, italicize or bolden text, heck, even CAPITALIZE, play around with fonts, add GIFs and write whatever I want. There’s really no rules to it. Lots of creative freedom!
Long-form blogging is also great for learning because of the amount of research that goes into it if you want to produce value driven content. I already have a topic in mind. Should I share it? Hmmm. Heck, why not – it’s about…brainstorming. I think it’s a cool topic because if you are like me you can find it hard to write because either you have too many ideas or you don’t have any at all. I haven’t written a single word on this topic yet. I am curious to see where it takes me. My gut reaction is that this topic will be about how brainstorming is good for writers blah blah blah. I have no idea what angle I will use and that is partly why this is an exciting challenge. Okay, that’s enough of that.
Big Brother USA Season 27 Finale
Reality tv is a guilty pleasure of mine and I am not afraid to admit it. The Big Brother USA season 27 finale was last Sunday. Oh my word – it was a great watch. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole episode. This season definitely kept me entertained throughout the summer.
My favourite houseguests this year were Will, Ava, Keanu and Ashley. A big congratulations to Ashley for winning. Whoop whoop! I must admit that I didn’t see that coming. I think a lot of people can agree to this. It’s true what they say in Big Brother – expect the unexpected. And don’t we all love a good underdog story though?
I was low-key rooting for Keanu throughout the whole season. He was just so funny and relatable. I was glad that he ended up winning America’s Favourite Houseguest. Morgan and Vince were great competitors but I think ultimately their relationship was their downfall. And of course Vince’s backstabbing and lying finally caught up to him. I think anyone who sat next to him in the final was going to beat him in the end.
Overall, it was a good season. Were you not entertained? When it comes to reality shows I try to be mindful about how I speak about the contestants online because at the end of the day they are people with real lives. It’s not acting (at least for the most part). In the voice of Julie Chen Moonves I will say ” Love one another”.
Random updates from the previous week:
- I haven’t finished the puzzle. Don’t ask me when I will get it done lol. You will see it when it is.
- I joined another book club – the first one isn’t looking too good cause the first meetup was cancelled by most of the group. It’s not looking good bruv (Say this in a UK accent,). Also I haven’t finished the book either.
There’s no quote for this week but I am leaving you with this idiom/phrase: “It’s never that serious”. I just want to approach this week with lightheartedness and positivity! See ya next week!
