This week’s snippet is a bit late. I have been trying to have these sent out every Sunday but the weekend turned out to be a busy one and I couldn’t write. I am also working on my next youtube video and I have been encountering some technical difficulties. I almost gave up lol. Anyways back to this week’s snippet.
Hand Knitting a Blanket
Last week I decided to try hand knitting a chunky blanket for the first time. The tutorials online made it look so easy. If you are not familiar with what hand knitting is, it’s literally just knitting with your hands, without using any knitting needles. Initially I wanted to knit a pink blanket but when I went to Michael’s to get the yarn, they only had 2 skeins in the pink colour I wanted. A skein is the term used to describe the oblong bundle of yarn often sold in stores.

I decided to make a pink and white blanket, instead. So I picked up 2 skeins of pink and 6 skeins of white. When I started knitting, I followed a tutorial on Youtube. The name of the channel is called HolyMolyDane. It was the only tutorial I watched and it was super helpful. I am happy with the blanket I made. There are some spots that I think I could have made the loops a little tighter but that’s okay. The real test for this blanket will come when I have to wash it. I am curious to see if it stays intact. Haha. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the knitting process. I was so focused on it that the time went by so fast. It roughly took me 6 hours and I did it over the span of 2 days. I definitely would like to do more knitting and even learn how to crochet as well. You get a nice boost of confidence when you try something new and get it right at the first attempt.
Decluttering
I don’t remember the last time I properly decluttered. Because I have been filming my youtube videos with my phone I am finding that I have to keep deleting stuff so that I have enough storage. I didn’t realise how many Baby Yoda memes I had saved on my phone over the years until I started going through my phone gallery.
This in turn has made me want to declutter other areas of my life. In the month of November, I plan on going through everything I own and getting rid of things I don’t need or use. Some of the benefits of decluttering include improved mental health, increased productivity, boosts self-esteem and creates a more organized living space. I also think it will create more room for me to express myself creatively. As the holidays are fast approaching and it gets busy I don’t want to wait until the new years to start decluttering. I would rather start doing it now and then enter the new year with no clutter.
My Current Favourite Matcha Latte Recipe.
Over the last few months I have been making some of my favourite drinks at home. I rarely go to a coffee shop to get a drink. I just wanted to share one of my favourite drinks so far. I don’t do a lot with my method so don’t judge hey. I know some people sift the matcha all that but I don’t do that anymore. It took so much time. I have a milk frother and so this makes things quite easy for me.

☕Ingredients
- 1 tbsp of matcha powder (I use Jade Original)
- 3/4 cup of Milk
- Sweetener (optional)
🍵Instructions
- Add 2-3 tbsp of warm water to the matcha powder in a cup and mix until dissolved.
- Using a milk frother, froth the milk using the hot setting.
- After about 10 seconds pour in the matcha and water mixture into the frother.
- When the frother is done, pour the latte into a cup and it’s ready to drink.
💡Tips
- Make sure that when you use warm water, not boiling.
- Use a matcha powder that is already sweetened.
That’s it for this week for now. Hopefully, I can figure out this youtube thing and have a video posted this week. This week’s quote comes from me. It’s nothing new but it’s a good reminder. Start, even when you feel afraid or unsure, just start.
