Hello there! I hope you had a lovely weekend. Welcome to this week’s snippet.
The Struggles of Filming Youtube Videos
Last week I filmed and edited a video for youtube talking about tips for writing memorable short stories. It took me a few attempts before I got something I could use. I had a script and all but whenever I was talking I was stumbling over my words and had to start over. This experience has really opened my eyes to see that content creation is not easy, in particular filming longer videos. I felt a bit discouraged at first but I reminded myself that I was learning a new skill which will take time and practice. If you have any helpful tips about being more comfortable filming talking videos for Youtube please let me know in the comment section below!
The Direction Of This Blog
As we get to the end of the year, I am starting to think about how I want to move forward with this blog in the upcoming year. I feel as though, so far it’s been a little all over the place. The reason I started this Weekly Snippet series was so that I get comfortable writing and posting every week. There was no strategy behind it at all. It’s been helping me learn the type of content I like to write about. I might take time off from posting for the month of December to plan for next year. I don’t know. I will see.
🍞 Pumpkin Loaf Recipe Using Pumpkin Pie Filling
Last week I accidentally bought pumpkin pie filling instead of the puree’ so I used the filling to bake a pumpkin loaf. It turned out nice.
🥚Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional — the filling already has spices, but a little extra warms it up)
- 1 ½ cups pumpkin pie filling (not purée)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
🧑🍳Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder and optional cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix the pumpkin pie filling, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined.
- Pour into the loaf pan.
- Bake 45–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool before slicing (it sets as it cools).
💡Tips
- If your filling is not sweet enough, add brown sugar.
Thanks for reading! Hope you have an amazing week. I honestly didn’t feel like posting anything this week but I am glad I did it anyway.
